Nature, always amazing.
Emily peered through the glass on our back door to watch the parrots a few mornings ago, who were looking for bugs and seed.
She noticed just how good the camouflage on our Tasmanian Rosella really is when a flock of around 20 birds landed, at times you could see just a few as they virtually disappeared into the greener grass, only to magically reappear in the drier grass.
They have certainly made my Cox’s Orange Pippen apples magically disappear.
This of course led to a discussion about natural selection as so many of our conversations do.
Thanks to Isabel Snow from the Office of the Education Registrar who shot me a link for OneZoom, a nifty little site that shows common living lineage on the Tree of Life, it’s wiki entry, occurrence, conservation state & genetics. Really great stuff!
